I downloaded the updated bios from the Asus site for my AV8 mainboard. However, when I unzip it, it has a file extension *.AMI instead of *.rom. Can someone please explain this?
 
I've seen this before with other mobos. Not sure, but I don't think it is a problem. Wait for others to respond.
 
It is the default file name from AMI, the maker of the BIOS.

Rename the file to "AV8.rom" once you save it to disk.
