I have a A8V without a working AGP lock and I have a Geforce 6800 Gt coming in the mail in like 2 days. So I am curious. What is going to happen when I use Asus' smart overclocking? is my Video card going to freak? Will it mess anything up?

it won't "Break" anything unless you go to far. I would stay below a 20 mhz jump on HTT though meaning 220 to make sure you don't kill you PCI devices.

The multiplier is unlocked on the FX-53 right? I am at work so I can't check, but if it is that wouldnt pose any trouble to any of the other parts right?

Multiplier OC'ing doesn't affect the PCI bus if that's what youmean.

Keep the PCI bus under 40 Mhz PCI, and you should never have and issue anyways. I've run at over 41 Mhz PCI bus speeds for more than two years on my work setup KR7a-133. Never an issue. Cooling is a must though. No case flow is asking for issues with elevated PCI bus, as the individual components (esp. HDD's will generate more heat.)

Just raise the multiplyer to 13x 13x200 = 2600 MHz. That would be great! :)

I have an Asus A8V version 1.02 with an FX F3. Don't hold your breath too much on the oc. I have dumped up the FX53 to 13X200 with a bump up in voltage. I am using the Zalman copper fan and my temps were 60+ C quickly. My computer would reboot after stress tests. I can bump up the voltage more, but am hesitant to. On the Via website, it states that the chipset is capable of a pci/agp lock, but again Asus fails to deliver. I am wainting for the MSI Neo-2 Plat to come out, the nvidia seems to have impressed all of the reviewers so far.

I can't get a stable FSB oc of any signifigance. The P4 3.2C on the P4800-C had oc'd to over 4.0, but I do like the FX53 better. Just still disappointed in Asus.

If you get anything to work with improvement, please post it.

Alright, im gonna run benchmarks then start trying OCing tonight. LOL if it doesnt work out I will just wait till I get to school and it's winter and then use pvc to channel 0 degree air into the case...
By the way, what it your load/idle temp when you don't overclock smooth?
