Just bought this MB from Newegg, have read that only Rev 2 and above have AGP lock. How do I identify a Rev 2 board? When I tried to specify Rev 2 only when ordering, they said return it if it wasn't what I wanted. In other words, their shipping people don't know the differance. Any help would be appreciated...

It should have a Rev. 2.0 on the board somewhere.
I think all of the 1.0 versions has their wireless adapter included.

well, if you just bought this board it 99% chance of ot being a 2.0 model. I 2.0 has been in in retail channels for a few months now.

You look between the PCI slots, Right after the model number "A8V" it should state the revision number there.

Also the 2.0 came in a White BOX, and the early models shipped in a Mostly Green Box.

My buddy just got this board as part of an Alienware system and he identified it as revision 1.1. Does this mean that the AGP lock does not work? It is an option in the bios but he has had OC'ing issues.

Only with the 2.0 Revsion is the AGP lock working.
All other eariler revsions the lock doesnt seem to work.

You can find the REV.# in the BIOS, I can't remember exactly where but I found it in the bios of my new board that I just got from TigerDirect. ASUS will have my A8V Deluxe board tomorrow to repair or replace at their option. When I powered down the computer, cutoff power to it I had to reset cmos before it would boot up again. Tiger gave me a tech # to call ASUS and I have over an hour of long distance comming up on my phone bill for just holding to talk to some one about the problem. I sure hope I get one back that works right. ASUS told me they would not switch out revision numbers. So now I'm stuck with the rev.# 1.xx From TigerDirect that I paid good money for.

Any way I hope this helps you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
