Asus A8V Onboard LAN Problem [solved]

Hi, I just did my first build a few days ago, and for the most part it went without a hitch (SATA notwithstanding :p ). A summarized config is as follows:

Asus A8V Deluxe
AMD 64 3500+
eVGA 6800GT
Audigy2 zs

My problem is that the onboard LAN doesn't seem to be working. It behaves as if the port is not even enabled, so I assume that this is the case.

My bios settings are the defaults, which are:
Onboard LAN: Enabled
Onboard LAN BOOT ROM: Disabled

I have installed the 4-in-1 drivers from the CD that came with the motherboard.

Anyone know for sure how to get this thing enabled?

On my list of things to try are:
+ Try enabling the LAN BOOT ROM in the bios (not at all sure that that would help)
+ Update BIOS (not sure why the default bios would not have the necessary settings to enable the port however)
+ Look for updated VIA drivers (again, not sure why the original ones wouldn't allow the port to work)

Plan to try these things after work tonight, but wanted to see if anyone knows for sure how to activate the port. I could toss a NIC in, but I'd rather not have to.

Thanks

EDIT: I also see that there is a set of Marvell LAN Drivers at Asus' website - I need to try a direct install of those as well

Friend of mine ran into this exact same problem. He was running XP, so I put in a spare 3Com 3C905 10/100 nic that I had, got him running and connected to the Internet, then did a driver update but had it check the Microsoft Update site. XP found a driver, downloaded and installed it, and now my friend is using the onboard nic and I have my spare 3Com card back. :)

Marvell Drivers fixed the problem, so all is well. Thought I had read somewhere that I only needed the 4-in-1 - all's well that ends well. :)

Actually.. isn't that the board that has two nic ports on it? The one is closer to the audio ports is the nVidia MCP adapter, while the one closer to the PS/2 ports is the Marvell 10/100/100 Gigabit port, right?

Good to hear you've got it working. :)

Interesting. I double-checked and my friend's motherboard IS the same model.. must be a slightly different revision.. learned something new. :)
