My Asus a8v will not boot up. It is giving me the message of "system failed cpu test". Ordered new Bios chip from Asus and they sent me updated one ver 1008 that is supposed to work with my processor. Does anyone have any information or had this happen to them and know anything that can help me fix this problem. I have an AMD Athlon 64 3400 processor with 1gb Kingston HyperX PC3200 ddr memory a BFG GeForce 6800 oc and an 200 gb seagate hard drive. Any infomation would be a help have tried all other options listed on this board none are working

what power supply and rated wattage are you using? A weak ps can also give that message.

what size ps? aparently there is a problem with a lot of ps's under powering this board. Alternately, go to google and search for: a8v system failed cpu test
I found that a lot of ppl are having this problem, and there are quite a few solutions that have worked for different ppl. hope it helps!
