Didn't have to remove any capacitors, at first I was worried that the heatpipes on the XP-120 would heat up because they were just barely touching the memory..
but as it turns out these heatpipes do not heat up, and everything works flawlessly.

also be aware that I am using Corsair XMS PRO memory which has the LED lights on top, so the ram is a bit taller than regular ram.

Hi topic.

I have a question concerning A8V and XP-120. Do you think a GFX cooler like zalman or ATI siliencer 4 will fit when XP120 is installed?

How much space is there between the XP-120 and the gfx-card?

Jienn,

I have the Silencer 4 with the XP 120 and it fits very well. It will go a long way to reducing your GPU noise levels, and your GPU temp should drop about 7C. IT also lowers case temps by 4-5C.

Slik,

Thanks for your temperature data. After 2 weeks of curing the AS5, my desktop idle is down to 35-37C and heavy gaming (with NFS Underground at max resolution and eye candy) is about 46-47C. Try running CPUBurn for at least 1/2 hour, normal priority in K7 mode, it is widely acknowledged to be the best high temp test. A few weeks ago mine was testing at 54, it would likely be a few degrees lower now. I'n really liking this system - games run flawlessly, and the noise is so low with its 3 Nexus fans and Arctic Silencer you can hardly tell it's on. I have the Panaflo 120Ls in my P4 and have to turn them down to 6 volts or they are just too noisy for me....
