Which MB is the better of the two to purchase?

Reasons?

Any problems with either MB?

Which PS is best with either one?

What RAM and CPU for either one?

Which VIDEO CARD?

Thanks.

I am down to these two boards and ready to purchase this weekend.

I see in the FX-55 post that they are using the A8V-DELUXE.

Anyone have an opinion and answeres to above?

if i were you i would get:

mobo: A8N-SLI DELUXE (you should wait a bit longer on ATI's upcoming mobo.. it's made espacially for SLI with ATI's card.. )

cpu: AMD64-FX55

ram: Corsair - twinX 2x512 mb(latency: 2. 2. 2. 5.)

GFX: ATI X800XT(if you can afford it buy two of these and set them to SLI)

philip

That set up is well over $3000 without the rest of the items I need to get for it. Not going to happen, I cannot justify it.

Would the 3500+ Winchester core CPU be enough? and is it upgradable to the FX-55 in the future? When prices drop.

So, the A8N-SLI Deluxe wins out?

yes, you'll be able to upgrade.

Though the positive reviews of A8N-SLI Deluxe seem to be a good indication of its quality, there are still a large number of issues being seen from posters here using this board (myself included).

If you're looking for a painless upgrade, this board may not be the best choice as it is still very new tech., and has plenty of kinks that need ironing out. On the other hand, the features it offers are hard to overlook.

I've RMA'd 2 of these boards already, yet still I see nothing that I would rather have (barring an A8N-Ultra version).

What are the issues with the A8N-SLI deluxe?

Perhaps I should go with the A8V- Deluxe until all the issues are resolved. I can always upgrade to the MB and then the CPU.

By far the most of what I've seen seem to be BOIS related items which will likely be fixed with updates. Keep in mind that this board was rushed to market ahead of ASUS's competitors and as a result, it's a bit rough around the edges. A few BIOS updates down the road, ASUS should have a solid, well rounded board on their hands.

If you can stand to wait amonth or two, you'll have many more choices, better information to act upon and prices will have settled a bit.

So if I got the A8V- Deluxe now and the +3500 winchester core CPU I could easily swap out the motherboard when more choices become available. What memory would be best and compatible with both boards?

The only probelm I see is the fact that A8V is AGP and A8N is PCI-E. In that case it would not be smart to get A8V.

I really can not wait as my current computer crashes a lot and is over 3 years old.

Other recommendations for the MB? Another brand?
