So, I've been reading a few reviews on this mother board and it looks like it is having serious bios issues. Are there any more supporting stories to this or nay?

Thanks,

None of the review sites that tested with Single Core found any problems with the A8R32-MVP, including us. However, I did further testing and there are certain situations where you can generate stutter with an x2 processor on this board - in particular with BF2.

Before this gets out of hand, we have worked closely with Asus and got them invloved with the issue. It has now been corrected.

1) Many problems were reported by users who had NOT installed the AMD x2 patch availabel for download at AMD. Install this patch.
2) Use Catalyest Drivers 6.3, just released yesterday, March 7th.
3) Asus has released a new BIOS called 311 that will post on the website "soon". This is a release BIOS, and not the BETA that DH, ourselves and others were testing earlier. It appears to completely correct the issues. If you can't wait for the BIOS to publish at Asus email me and I will send you the 311 BIOS. Perhaps someone could host if it's needed.

We all jumped on this quickly and got it fixed because these kind of posts have a way of becoming "truths" even when they are not 100% right. DH and others are reporting the issues are fixed with the earlier BIOS update, and those changes are incorporated in this release version.

Which AMD x2 patch are you referring to? And where is it? The website lists mostly files that are almost a year old. Thanks.

I've got one running a stable rig. Very pleased (see sig)

HOWEVER

I kinda regret buying one cos of crossfire performance is nowhere near SLI.

:-(

Wish I had 2 7900 GTXs but I only barely have enough $ for the expensive crossfire edition x1900xt

i wouldn't regret it!

you have to remember that SLi is over a year old while crossfire is still young and maturing. it still needs a little time to stretch its legs.

The thing is, buying a 500 card will net me a very small boost in the games I want to play like oblivion or FEAR or COD2.
