ASUS A8N-SLI Premium, Raid setup

Hi,

I am setting up my new PC with the above MB, and a bootable Raid 0 SATA setup.
On the board there are two Raid controllers, NVIDIA and Silicon.

In the manual there is nomention on what the difference between them are, so which should I choose for the setup?

Any explanation and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

In testing, the Silicon Image had a lower CPU usage under heavy load.

However, if you had to move disks to another PC and reconstruct the array (and if the array manager writes a signature to the disks), then you might find it easier picking a board with an nvidia raid than another SiI.

Up to you in other words. If I was gambling the raid0 route, I'd probably just take the SiI.
