Asus A8N-SLI Premium owners w/ xp90 or xp120 installed?

How difficult was it to install? Does the retention frame's back plate have to be removed or do you just replace the frame on the top and leave the back plate in place?
Were there any clearance problems with the memory or heatsink for the heatpipe?

Thanks,
BGC

The XP-120's plastic retention bracket bolts up directly with the back plate on the mobo of the premium. It installed pretty easily.

I'd recommend the xp120 to go with the a8n-sli premium. Nothing wrong at all with the xp90, it's just the xp120 is larger, and it's fan sits right above the heat-pipe heatsink and helps keep it cool.

i actually just received a new mobo from the asua RMA dept: a8n-sli rev. 1.02. and i have a xp-120. I find that the plastic retention brackets don't exactly match up with the black plate. I don't know if the retention bracket is different with different models of the a8n-sli but i'm guessing it should be the same. Here's some pictures of what the retention bracket looks like. I really can't figure out how to mount my xp-120 onto this crap. Please help.

Your pic's look like any other standard 939 mounting hardware so what's the problem? And what does this mean (really can't figure out how to mount my xp-120 onto this crap)???? Just follow the XP-120 mounting instructions for 939...........

the plastic brackets on the xp-120 don''t grab onto the retention bracket on the motherboard. It's not even close. that's what i mean by "really can't figure out how to mount my xp-120 onto this crap"

OP - I have the XP120 on my Asus A8N-Sli Premium and it fits w/out any issues. And the backplate is reused but the top plastic retention bracket gets replaced with the thermalright one.
