Asus A8N-SLI New Beta Bios 1003-006!

No. It's just that the German site posts all the updates first, going all the way back to Asus 486 offerings. I FTP the German site.

flashed to it, seems fine! When I downloaded it, it was named 1003sd.006

I renamed it: "1003-006.BIN" and this changed it to the typical "bin" file.

seems to work ok. Will know more w/ testing. But flash went fine and the memory issues where it would lock up on certain mem settings is now fine.

bap4201,

Does it solve the "can't go over 240MHz on RAM at 1T" problem?

I hope that this issue can be fixed with a simple BIOS update.

I flashed to it earlier today and it allowed me to go over 2.6GHZ for the first time. I haven't tried 1:1 yet.

I'm going to Ghost my drive, flash it now, then I'll let you know if I can OC past 240. Check back here in a couple of hours.

Nope, it doesn't. It's just as crap as before for OCing.😀

I second that. I just tested it and the 240 mhz memory barrier (at 1T) and voltage problems are still there. I hope this isn't a problem with the board. Asus has about a month or so, until the DFI board is available at decent prices, to fix this problem.

I hope it's BIOS-fixable otherwise A8V's history will repeat again. I still have a fond memory of owning 3 A8V boards: rev1.02 with no lock, rev1.02 with lock but only by beta bios and finally rev2.0 where the lock is supported by official bios.

Come on ASUS, please do a better job, or change your advertisement to something like: "Asus, the first to get it out but the last to get it right!!!"

Did anyone have a problem with AI booster showing the fsb as 0 mhz (but showing the cpu mhz correctly) ? sometimes it's showing the fsb as 2 mhz (??), also the voltage setting is not the same as the in the bios sometimes. Did anyone try the divider settings above DDR400, like the DDR500, etc ? This may increase the memory speed beyond the fsb's which should help a lot if you have fast memory.
