There is an issue with this board that currently limits ram to 240 1T. There have been reports that the 1004 beta bios raises this limit to 250 1T but I haven't tried it yet.

Hey all I am going to try a few new things with my setup. I am a new member but it should be listed in my sig what I am have. I have the new 1004 beta and will be testing settings on that. If anyone has suggestions on settings please let me know. I will post some of my results once i get them. Thanks!

good news people

ram set 2.5-4-4-10 3.0 volts in bios 3x multi
cpu set 1.55 volts in bios multi 9x
pci locked 33.3 in bios

..... result= 2601.44
ram tested stable on memtest
cpu temp 35 deg at load
currently prime95 testing is stable so far

let me know if you have any suggestion on tweaking this to improve it thanks!

i think that the main goal here is to get the board running 1:1 (DDR400 setting) w/ 1T timings consistantly above 245MHz FSB. Comeon ASUS. I know that you have it in you to do it!

does anyone know if selecting the x.5 CPU multipliers causes a penalty to the memory performance?

M4tt:

Looking at your sig... Do you have the Maxtor Diamondmax hard drives (NCQ) and are they being recognized by your bios? (what bios are you using)?

I have been able to run looping timdemos in doom3 at 320mhz 3-4-3-9 2t timings before with no problem on this memory and I can take screenies of the me at 330mhz...

I just flashed to 1004.1 bios and MY question is when you get to teh memory settings in bios there are like 9 or 10 memmory settings to choose from. How do I know which to change. ex 2-3-3-8-1T. If I wanted to run that timming which ones do I change?

use the first ones the last ones leave on auto
if you need more specific look at the names of each catagory and then set accordingly
i would assume that you are setting your cas to 2 so you would have options of 2, 2.5 and 3
the others you set 3 and the 8 will have the higher options 1 t gives the option of that or 2 t i don't know how will 2 3 3 8 will work for you i would suggest 2.5 3 3 8 what everyou end up with try to get as tight as you can and memtest it to make sure its stable

Is it me or does this mobo suck for o/c. I should of waited for DFI. I cant get this thing stable even at 230 1:1. If I try to put my ocz memory at 2-2-2-5-1t at stock speeds it doesnt even post. Damn. AI booster is gay.

The "other ones", as you call them, actually make a bigger difference to memory bandwidth (they'll all tighten some way from auto) than small tweaks on the usual 4. Still, tight memory settings and big OCs do not go together.

You must be doing something wrong.......i have my fsb at 245 with my OCZ Platinum Rev.2 at 2.5-3-3-7 and it works great........my memory is at 1T and 1:1 ratio. It also works just fine at stock 2-2-2-5 speeds.......i can even keep those timings all the way to about 218-220.

Ok I got it stable at 240 1:1(DDR 400) 2.5-3-3-8-1T@2.75, Vcore 1.525, 5xHTT

My question is this. Should I leave HTT at 5 or put it to 4. If I put HTT to 4 will that enable me to possibly get my cpu up to 250 1:1? I remeber reading somewhere that you want HTT to be close to 1000 for my chip. well 240x5=1200. Can someone please clarify.

I did some further research and it seems I should put HTT 4x. I did some mem and cpu tests and it did not have a neg effect. MY nect question is this. If I go with 10x265 or 10x270 and a 3 HTT does it matter the the hyper transport is only running at 3x270(810)? Will that kill performance? That is of course if I can get my memory to run at 270 FSB.

Also I read somewhere that Prime 95 is not a good test for stability on AMD 64. People use super pi instead. Anyone care to comment?

This is my first AMD setup...

Can i acheive 2000fsb without o/c'ing?

I also get a "crackle" in my mobo sound card while playing Americas Army...

(Audigy 2zs if out for repairs) :( only 2 months old and poopd on me!

So i take it that i shouldnt use the DDR500 setting? it puts me @ 250x8 and i forget the fsb but its not 2000 and the cpu bootd up and was a bit warm...

Would appreciate some info on some settings if n e 1 has a similiar setup...
