Hi all,

This is my first post , but im very desperate.
I bought the motherboard mentioned in the titel 2 weeks ago , now the POST says my chip fan runs to slow. I searched this problem and many people seemed to have it cause asus made stupid heatsinkfans. Ok well i was going to replace it and i now have the heatink + fan (The stock one) of the chip. Now the problems are : There is a black plastic surface around the chip in the middle , what do i do , leave it?Remove it? Second there is glue on chip and on that black plastic surface, How to remove glue and what to use? Third i wanted to buy a Zalman heatsink cooler .. Is the ZM-NB47J a good one? Plz help i need my pc back and im a newbie at this. Thnx already

LOL!!! That?s not glue on the chip its thermal grease and you better get some before you put the new heat sink on!!!!!!! I recommend arctic silver 5 (and so dose everyone else). As far as installation goes, after you get the old heat sink off all you need to do wipe off the old thermal compound with a soft cloth or tissue, reapply the new compound and then just follow the instructions for installation of your new heat sink. Good luck

Here is a picture of the chip on my motherboard , the black you see is the 'plastic' covering the chip. So what to do with it?
Grtz

Leave it on. Sorry it took so long to reply. However, if u ended up taking it off then it wouldn?t matter too much because that is obviously a new thing since mine didn't have it. My temps are in range but they were really good for a while when I had my fan hooked up to my Zalman VGA cooler. I'll post some pics when I get the going again.
