I was having sporadic boot problems that I linked to my Audigy 2 ZS. It would after a couple days stop POSTing altogether. I would have to remove the card, let the CMOS discharge for a looong time, and then it would boot again. At one point I uninstalled the Creative drivers, reinstalled them, and then put the card in. I also moved it around to different slots, and changed my overclock settings. I've been running now without any problems.

I had been running the FSB at 250. I pulled it back to 240 as many people are having problems above that clock. I don't know if that was the fix or not; are you overclocking your board at all?

I could not boot with my Sound Blaster Live card. Pulled it and was finishing up system when I lost 1394 and the Marvel lan, then I noticed my fax modem also was not reconized anymore. Seems the whole PCI buss died. I returned board and 2 weeks later it is working again. Still afraid to put in the Live Card. I was also having no boot problems before also and had to play with things to get system to boot like clear Cmos and turn power on and off several times. New board does not have any of these problems same bios same board version number. My guess is Asus is building crap these days. Wish I would have waited for the Gigabyte.

I'm on my 2nd Asus A8N SLI Deluxe board. I blew a fuse one day and upon restoring power, the board wouldnt boot properly anymore. It would usually freeze up upon displaying the nforce4 chipset info. I did have a original Creative Audigy in there at the time, but never had any sound problems. I RMA'd that board, and I think my current one is a slightly later revision. It came with a more recent bios at least. I'm using the onboard sound currently, because I thought my Audigy was conflicting with SLI. I don't think it was, I think SLI just doesnt work in Windows 2000.

Well I am on my second board, the first lost 1394, Marvel Lan and all PCI detection. Got my new one installed it and all seemed to be working fine, so I pluged in my Sound Blaster Live since the onboard sound sucks, booted up let xp install the driver and system locked. Reboot it would not boot just cut back off. Pulled card it booted up,no 1394 no Lan no modem in PCI slot. Restarted and no boot. Put sound blaster live back in old system booted fine installed and is working. SO it seems this board has a serious issue with either pci cards or the Live card. I have heard others with the same issue. It seems a lot of those not having problems have no PCI cards installed? Am I right? This board is dead now I cant get it to boot at all. Tried 3 Power supplies different cpu and memory and even a PCI video nothing. Well I am off to see If i can get a refund now, so far I am out $208.00 for board $14.95 to ship the first one back, and now another $14.95 to ship this one back. Doesn't seem to good an investment. And oh yes I am an MCSE, A+, and own a computer store so you would think I would know how to build a system. Only other board I ever had issues with was another Asus. Should have learned the first time. And I have been waiting since 1/29/2005 for Asus tech support to get back to me. So it seems their support sucks to.
