ASUS A7V880 Memory Problems

for some reason i am not able to get my asus a7v880 to run at dual channel pc3200, only dual channel pc2700. I have cosair value ram 512x2 and an amd athlon xp-m 2600+ at 2.4ghz. any suggestions?

When you put in the two sticks of pc3200 ram does it run them at pc2700 speeds? If it does, its probably because the FSB of your chip is 166 (333) mhz instead of 200 (400).

But does the pc3200 ram run at pc2700 speeds or does it not run at all?

runs at pc2700..with single or dual channel.

go into the bios and see if there is a setting to force the memory to run at 200mhz. It could be that it just can't do that with yoru FSB.

did that pc crashes and says bad bios and needs the cd to recover
