Im having trouble loading the network controller driver. the driver dosent seem to be on the disc and windows update system dosent have a driver either. can anyone tell me why this portion of the motherboard wont work? and if there is a driver floating around on the internet, can someone tell me where to find it?

Could you be more specific about what problem it didn't fix 🙂 Is the Device Manager showing the NIC with a ! on it, or has Device Manager got it listed normally?

under the device manager, there is a tab that says other devices and under that tab is a ! with network controller written beside it. it says the manufacturer is not known. ive sent two e-mails two asus over the past month and have not received any reply.

If you go through the tabs, does it say why it's having a problem (cannot find resources, for instance)?

Big picture: slap a $5 PCI NIC into the system and put it all behind you 🙂 Your time's worth something.

yeah says it cant find any resources because the driver isnt installed. i see it as a waist of time to worry about too. my dad wants it fixed before we move on with the machine, and for we know, there might not be a driver out there for it. believe me im with you, ide just rather slap a new nic card in and get on with life. i can actually acces our home network and the internet just fine. my dads fired up about getting the problem fixed but the way i see it, "out of sight, out of mind"

but i do thank you for helping me through this

If you try manually updating the driver from within Device Manager, aiming it at the extracted driver files that you downloaded from my link, does it refuse them?
