Asus A7V333 RAM Problems Please Help

I have an Asus A7V333 with 256 MB of Crucial PC2100 with ECC. I recently purchased another 256 MB stick of Crucial PC2100 without noticing that it didnt have ECC. When I put the new stick in, it goes through the POST, memory check, etc. just fine, but then Windows XP Pro wont boot. It just sits there with a blank screen. I have to restart to get anything to work. It is registered as 512 MB in bios. Is the ECC thing my problem or is there something else Im missing. Thanks for your help.

That's odd. Try with just the new stick of memory by itself and see if it starts to work again. I wouldn't think WinXP would care, since the motherboard's BIOS is going to ignore the ECC function on the ECC module regardless. Welcome to the Forums, let us know what happens 🙂

Darn. Well, if you want to buy more DDR, this looks like the right time to do it. 🙂 Prices are looking rather good!
