Asus A7V333 and Alpha PAL8045

Confusion2

Junior Member
I'm about to do a major upgrade of my computer and I have been looking on a Asus A7V333-motherboard (mostly because of the vocal POST reporter =)) but I am a bit concerned that a Alpha PAL8045 will fit on it.
Anyone here got any experiences with this combo, or have any ideas if this would work?

Where are you getting your A7V333 at? BTW.. I bought the Alpha 8045 before the mobo because I absolutely knew that I wanted to use this heat sink to get a quiet computer that cools well. The problem is picking out a damn mobo though. 😉 I like the A7V333 because it's priced about what the KT266a chipsets from Asus are.

I did check the Alpha site and the 8045 is absolutely compatible with the A7V333 according to Alpha.

Since Newegg was sold out, I ordered one from mwave.com yesterday. It was a few dollars more, but worth not having to wait. 🙂

I was considering the Asus A7V333, but I've already read some bad things about the board. Not good coming from Asus which is supposed to be really good.

Dang, too late... I ordered a Zalman cnps6000 alcu instead (as I am mostly concerned about the noise and I don't need to overclock). Anyway, I am almost broke, because of this computer upgrade so I was not able to afford the alpha cooler + papst fan anyway.. :/
although if the system will get too hot in silent mode I guess I will have to get the Alpha cooler anyway...🙂

Im buying the mobo at Itbutikken.dk because I live in Scandinavia, and I want to use the postal-service-payment system that we use here.. (it uses the postal service as a trusted part for the payment/product exchange)

What bad have you heard about the mobo? I have heard none (except that it is somewhat expensive), so please, enlighten me =)

Sincerely
/Henning
