<< AMD Europe sources tell The Inquirer that Asus' new KT266-based Socket A DDR mobo, the A7V266, is currently undergoing evaluation in Chimpzilla's labs.

Initial results show the board 'comfortably outperforms' the present flavour of the month, the Gigabyte GA7DX Rev 4.0 which uses AMD's own 760 chipset.

The chipmaker currently recommends the GA7DX by including it on its list of approved mobos and the upcoming approval of a board using a rival chipset to its home-grown 760 shows a commendable lack of bias from AMD.

Yeah, I've heard things about A7V266 like that coming out of AMD europe alot lately. Yeah, I was thinking A7V266 would be a great board, but it never came. The truth is though, it may be too late because of nForce. We will have to wait and see.
