Asus A7V133 with Palomino Core Durons

This seems to me to be a faq, but I can't seem to find the question or answer anywhere. Please excuse me if it is.

I just got an Asus A7V133 from my brother, and decided to build a new server out of it. I want to put a duron in it, but the only ones I can seem to find in a retail box are the Palomino core durons (the 1.0gig from newegg.com is pretty attractive). I tried a 1 gig duron in an A7V before, and it wouldn't work, even though Asus claimed it would work (maybe it just needed a bios upgrade, but that's kind of hard to do when it won't post). Asus claims that the A7V133 can support durons up to 1.3gig, but I don't exactly trust what they say anymore. Does anyone know if the A7V133 will support the 1.0GHz Duron?

According to Asus the 1007 BIOS adds Athlon XP support. I'm assuming the update adds Duron Morgan support as well since the Palomino and Morgan received the same core changes. You can find the 1007 and later BIOS'es for the A7V133 here.

hehe your supposed to update the bios before you put in the new cpu 😀

and yeah the 1ghz duron (morgan core, not palomino.. but very similar) works fine in the a7v and the a7v133

I have an a7v133, and using athlon xp 1.46GHZ (AMD stupid number: 1700)
when using an old BIOS, it is recognised as AMD H-series 1466Mhz
but the system work stably.
