Asus A7V133 temp monitor

Just enabled the PC monitoring software on my A7V133 and I am concerned about the temp readings. I have an Athlon 900Mhz, not overclocked, and a super orb (got it before I read the reviews here:eek:). I also have an Elight case with a front fan. The problem is that the temp. reads 44 C right off the bat and 59 C at idle. This seems way too hot and I'm concerned about the CPU. How do I know if the program is reading correctly and if it is, how worried should I be. I'm going to order a new HSF pretty quick, probably an Articooler since I have found one. Thanks for the help.

Don't know what the case temp is, but the 44 C reading is straight from start up so it should be room temp. I am using the Asus PcProbe that was bundled with the board. By the way the board itself reads 36 C at idle. Sorry for the lack of info. I'm kind of new to this.

Board temp is 36 C at idle and after use in Half Life for a few hours. Pretty consistent.

By the way, any opinion on the Arcticooler. I've read good reviews but I'm skeptical after reading the link that Mike attached. I don't OC now, but I think I will soon. Other HSF recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thanks for the help.

the older ones are okay, but i would personally get a heatsink with a better-clip(ie taisol, alpha, or vantec). Depends on what kind of performance/noise you want/tolerate.
