Asus A7V question

A question for anyone in the know:
I have an Asus A7V with the latest bios. Every time I try to change the CPU core voltage settings the system locks on reboot the first time and then reverts back to default and boots ok. I have my jumpers set to jumper free mode and I am simply moving from 1.7V (default) to 1.75V as a precursor to OC'ing my chip. My CPU heatsind is the Globalwin FOP38 with the delta fan so I don't think it is a cooling issue. Any ideas?

Thanks for any suggestions,

here is the thing 🙂

if you do have an a7v then ignore what im about to say

if you have an a7v133 in bios leave vcore at "default" leave all jumpers and dipswitches set for "jumperfree"

but.... do use the jumpers on the board to adjust the vcore, for some reason the a7v133 doesnt like to have the vcore adjusted in bios.

ive had the same problem you stated with at least 5 or 6 of the a7v133 boards, and it always worked fine overclocking when i adjusted the vcore on the board itself instead of in the bios

boonesmi--a7v does have the voltage menu in bios as the a7v133 but, both seems to reboot/hang and change back to default. all your suggestions is correct. mix of jumper and jumper free mode.
