ASUS A7V owners.... Does your computer freeze up? Must read this...

Jack Ive said this before but I guess ill repeat myself.... go to www.asuscom.de and try 1005A... it fixed lockups for me and it fixes them for alot of others.

tried all the suggestions, still locks up in games, I'm going to try to isolate the problem.

Novon, did you disable PCI Master Cache Reading in the Bios?
I recently enabled it again, and immediately had stability problems with Unreal Tournament! 5 crashes in 30 minutes that required a reboot! I disabled it again, and immediately all the lockups went away.

Weeell I finally stabilized this monster. I can now run the A7V at 969 at 1.84v with the FOP 38. My GF2 MX now runs at 4X and det 3 6.50. Previously could only use up to 5.45 drivers. Now everything runs and temps are excellent. Will try out 7.17 drivers later and DX8. Using BIOS 1003 modified.
Thought the noise would be a killer since everyone complained about the FOP 38 - I think its fine since it is under my desk anyways.
For the information of everyone
Tried chrome orb - power on problems at speeds higher than 850 (had to hit reset once to power on)
Tried Taisol with a bigger fan and their thermal tape - cooling improved but still had to hit reset button to power on. Still cannot go higher than 927.
FOP 38 - tried 969 AND it POWERS on normally - IIT WORKS heat was the enemy.
Observations
Chrome orb - goo dgeneral purpose but difficult to remove
Taisol - easy to install but a little difficult to remove
FOP38 - A bit hard to install but easier than chrome orb. I do not think I want to remove in a burry. I want to try the delta fan on the Taisol since overall the Taisol looks better and may improve with a bigger fan.
SO NO MORE A7V PROBLEMS FOR ME. CYALL
