One of my systems has an Asus A7V MB with an Athlon 1.1 TBird processor. I recently moved it into a new Antec Model SX1030B case. It worked flawlessly for a couple days but now when I hit the power on switch nothing happens. No fans, no disk, no lights. The green led on the motherboard is lit. If I power off the power supply and wait 30 secs or so for the board to discharge and the green light go out I can then power on the system. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

First, try unplugging the Powersupply from the motherboard, then plug it back in and make sure it's connecting all the way. If that doesn't work, try another powersupply. My friend had the same problem.

A few years ago this was a prime symptom of an old or underpowered power supply when switching to the Duron/Athlon which is more picky about power than the K6/Pentium II. However an Antec 300watt should be plenty for that setup. I would be suspicious of the power supply though.

Thanks, I do have the machine loaded so perhaps I am stretching the PS. I will try a 400 watt one I have sitting around and see if that cures it.
