ASUS a7v northbridge chipset fan stopped...

just saw this when I swapped a card. Should I replace and do you guys know what size it is. Here is a pic of it.

These fans die so often that my local shop has an entire rack of the exact same 40mm fan, the UPC label says "A7V133 fan" 😀. Personally, I've had my A7V133 TBird 1200 machine running with the Northbridge (40mm) fan disconnected for over a year, I've had uptimes as long as 6 weeks in Windows XP (usually ended by a game hard locking the environment). I don't think it's necessary to have the fan working, it probably pushes 2CFM anyway.

Personally I'd just rip that whole HS off and try to find a bigger(taller most of all) one, like the one on the A7N8X.

Go but a Vantec northbridge cooler. 40mm fans die waaaayyy too fast. It's like they're mini suicide bombers.

A Zalman passive NB heatsink should do the trick....ahhhh....silence 🙂
