Asus A7v how high can I go?

I have an Asus A7v with 200Mhz/FSB. I am using 384MB of PC133 Micron RAM. I have a 900MHZ T-Bird running right now, how big of a proc can I go up to on this board? I looked on Asus's site and one page says 1.2GHZ and one page says 1GHZ, then I see that there is a 1.3 GHZ 200mhz FSB T-Bird. Can someone set me straight on this?

I have one of the first revision A7V and in my manual it lists my mutipler goes up to 12.5 which is 1.25GHZ and with my FSB@133 It could hit 1.3GHZ so I am guessing thats about right.
 
I would think 1.3ghz with the new BIOS because that's the highest 100mhz Tbird out and I don't see why they wouldn't support it.
 
So to get those speeds I have to use the jumper/switches instead of jumper free? No big deal I guess. Thanks for the help.
 
my A7V maxed out at 1306mhz... that was 12.5 x 104.5, for some reason when you use the 12.5 multiplier the FSB get bumped to 104.5.
 
I posted on some other message boards also. Someone told me I had to use a B type CPU also (100mhz FSB). How do I determine what a "B" type CPU is? So I can go to 1.3GHZ I just have to go to jumper mode and use the 12.5 multiplyer right?

My suggestion is that if you want to upgrade your CPU go for one of the new 266MHz FSB Athlons and step up that FSB speed. With that FSB and a 12.5 multiplier, that board will take you right up to 1.67 MHz which is faster than any of the currently available Athlons (1.4 MHz is the fastest). If you want to splurge and get the 1.4 you could do that or go for the 1.33 MHz or even the 1.2 MHz if cost is more of an issue. The problem is since you are already at 900 MHz the change isn't going to be fantastic for the amount of money you are going to pay and what to do with the old chip anyway.
 
I have the 1008_01E bios and 12.5 means more than or greater than 1250. I have a 1.33(266) popped it in and it reads 13x100=1300 not 12.5x104 and no there's no 13 and 13.5 in the bios not with the 1008_01E anyway.

the latest bios will read pony's at 1400, as long as it's unlocked with the latest bios you should be ok.
 
I appriciate all the responses, I am a little confused though. I am running an orginal A7V with the 200MHZ FSB, and PC133 RAM. Several of you have suggested for me to go with the 266 FSB procs. I thought I had to have the nextgen motherboard with DDR RAM to run the 266 FSB chips.

They meant KT133A based boards along with a 266fsb tbird. I'm kinda in the same situation because I am also interested in this except that I have a MSI K7T Pro2-A board ....and I just want to pop a new chip in instead of buying another board because 1)I'm too lazy to swap it out 2)This board is so stable that I don't want to change anything else...don't have time to reformat etc...

NicColt: my board also reported 1300 but a wincpuid quickly confirmed the 12.5 x 104.5 = 1306 speed.(not sure what bios i was using)

it would have to be a KT133A or DDR board, only those can offically support 133mhz FSB athlons.
 
Whew, hoped that I wasn't crazy. ;-) So have we all established that I can run a 1.3 GHZ T-Bird 200FSB on my &quot;original&quot; A7V with the KT133 chipset? I do not have the Rev A chipset.
