Asus A7V..... bulk order? if and when the "details" are known

i am in contact with the only other place besides AMD, that had an KT133 mobo at PCexpo.. it's called http://www.microgiant.com i talked to a sales guy today. this is what he said..

estimated street price ~$165 arrival friday the 14th

he's gonna ask the tech guys wether or not the two boards they had at PCexpo, had A.) dip switches for multiplier manipulation. or B.) BIOS multiplier manipulation.(they supposedly got them 2 days before PCexpo)

he said the price would lower if it was a bulk order...(which is great cuz that price is steep!)

i'm also see if they can do a combo.. ie a duron 650/A7V.... for a lower price then sold seperately...

the problem is, with these guys bulk orders usually mean 1000+ units. 10 boards isnt bulk to big time distributors.

i said "i think i can get ~25 ppl to buy these" he seemed satisfied with that number...

I'd buy one no problem if I can get a good price for my KA7 Doubt that'll happen though

KDOG: no but this is what i had in mind.....

get a buttload of ppl together... all wanting a A7V... and or wanting a combo A7V/duron...

then somehow organize thru paypal or something a way to pool the loot.... then a have everyone deposit the money into my paypal account.. or have someone who has the credit already(25 boards/cpus is a little over my checking/credit account balance/limit) do the money thing ie buy the boards(any volunteers?) then have us paypal them the money.

again this was just an idea.... and hopefully we can get it going...

then again..... we could just wait another week after they are out and get them from 20 different places....

this seemed like such a good idea..... but now that i think of it.... it seems horribly difficult, and one helluva pain in the ass

heh, well I found out I can delay making my computer till about the 22nd, so hopefully a store in my area will have one by that time..
