Hello,
I have the following problem and I wonder if someone can help me to solve this.
When I want to close down my computer, it reboots instead.
The monitor goes black for a minute and then the system reboots.
The only way to close down the computer is to pull out the electricity cable...
I have win98se and winME installed. The problem only occures with winME.

This is my configuration:
ASUS A7V with bios rev. 1005c.
Thunderbird 1 ghz.
256 mb memory (pc133).
Matrox 20 gb on the ATA 100 (primary master).
IBM 16 gb on the ATA 66 (secondary master).
Diamond fireport SCSI (for my 2 plextor CD/CDR).
ASUS Geforce 2 7700 with original drivers.
The Promise controller has the newest drivers (160 build 33).
Creative Labs SB Live.

This is what I tried before writting this message:
Updated : Bios, promise controller and chipset with newest drivers.
Disabled "check floppy disk on shutdown" in Norton Antivirus.
Disabled Creative SB 16 emulation.
Disabled the power management function in BIOS and OS.
Downloaded the MS patch for IDE...

And now I can't find anything anymore.
Like I said, i have a multiboot system, and it's only the winME that does this.

Hope someone can help me.

Try checking out your latest Video Driver from Nvidia. :) I had that problem with Win2000 after the installation of Diablo2. But was able to correct the problem with the latest driver upgrade.
