Asus A7N8X Deluxe and Front USB

A friend of mine said that he had problems connecting the mobo usb/firewire cables to the front usb/1392 ports on his Chieftec SX1030 case. Apparently, the pins dont match up, and it is impossible to connect the cables without some kind of adapter. Is this true? Do I need an adapter? Or can I just hook the cables to the Vantec Nexus Multi Function panel I'm buying?

I just had some trouble figuring out the connections in an Antec Sonata case for the same motherboard. What I eventually figured out was that the connector that I thought was the USB connector, was actually something else. It had ten holes and looked like it might be the right one, but it wasn't. In the Sonata, each connector was a single plug to go on a single pin. I had to just put them on the pins for USB 5 and 6 as shown in the motherboard diagrams. Mine were fairly well labeled for power, ground, positive and negative. It only takes four connectors per USB port, you leave one of the pins unconnected on each side.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck,

They're kind of a pain, but it should work if you connect the wires right. There should be a diagram in the MB manual.
