ASUS A7N8X DELUXE - $126.99 at Newegg

I saw that there was a thread on this before, but the prices on this board were said to have gone back up by the end of the thread and it was declared dead. I just ordered one of these boards and there was no shipping charge either cause of the Fedex super happy saver shipping or something like that. So all I paid was the $126.99 + the Rush charge ($2.99). The whole thing cost me $129. There are refurbished ones for $69, but they are out of stock. Anyway, sorry if it borders on a repost, but I thought this was a good deal.
 
There are seven (7) sellers on PriceWatch who have this for less, the lowest price being $122.99. Maybe some people think it is worth a few extra dollars to buy something from NewEgg. Personally I wouldn't know since newEgg almost never has the lowest price on anything and there are other sellers who have good ratings and better prices. It would seem someone always has to post prices from NewEgg. Someone should start a strictly NewEgg thread or forum and list their prices on everything and then maybe the Hot Deals forum can be for Hot Deals and not NewEgg's latest price on this or that.
 
Yeah newegg has gotten expenisve.. Newegg used to always have the lowest prices at it's first 6 months.. completely unbelievable prices...

now most of their prices are mediocre.. with a few good ones every now and then..

I go to mwave.com now... plus they are a 10 minute walk from my house, and they have will call 😀
 
Not hot, imo, but a price I would expect to pay. Great board though, I have one and it's absolutely awesome!
 
I like Newegg but as a consumer I am always looking for more vendors to purchase from. Another on-line vendor to consider is Allstarshop.com. Theire prices are lower then Newegg's most of the time but higher some of the time. just my 2 cents ...
 
Allstarshop is cool too in that most everything comes with a 1-year warranty provided by *them*. Whereas with NewEgg it seems you are pretty much SOL after 30-days, or stuck with sometimes shxtty mfr. warranties. (I imagine it's hard to service a warranty with many of the hardware manufacturers that are based solely in places like Taiwan. I could be wrong though, no expert)
 
Just to throw another nForce2 Ultra 400 board on the stack, I see www.mwave.com has the Shuttle AN35N for $53.50. It has the more-basic MCP southbridge instead of the MCP-T, but that's a nice price for what it is. Anyone tried one?

That said, I :heart: my A7N8X-Deluxe, other than the fact that it seems to gain a couple minutes per hour on the clock! 😛
 
I believe there are limitations to overclocking with the Shuttle microATX board you mention above. I don't remember what, exactly, but I was eyeing that board too. Then I found out.

So for non OC'ers, hey. Great board?
 
Anyone ever think about the Gigabyte 7N400 Pro from Gigabyte? It is $121 checking pricewatch. Anyone have used this? It seems very feature packed, more so than the ASUS board.

I personally own a Gigabyte 7DXR and it has been great, super stable. Wondering if anyone else thinks the 7N400 Pro is a good board worth getting
 
Sheeze. Complaining about newegg because other retailers have the board at up to, OMG, $4 LESS!!! 😱 There are four retailers on pricewatch.com that list for cheaper than newegg. The only one of those four retailers I'd even considered giving my money to is knowledgemicro, and they still don't have that great of a resellerrating. The other ones all have pitiful ratings. Saving a few bucks to get screwed if you have a problem with your order doesn't seem like much of a hot deal. 😛
 
I think a big part of newegg's great reseller rating is the fact that they are so well known, word of mouth I guess. Granted they have the best designed site I've seen, I don't see the great advantage of buying most things from them if it's more expensive. People buy from newegg, their stuff comes, and it's 10's across the board because newegg is the greatest. Random pricewatch store, stuff comes, and no review. Whenever something bad rolls around, backorder, restocking fee, et cetera, people certainley head straight to RR. A few bad's will kill a store without 100000 positives like newegg. I've had no problem with any pricewatch store. There certainley are bad ones out there, flat out trying to rip people off, and RR is great for finding those. However, I don't care if a store has a 1.0 if all of those ratings come from people pissed that an order was cancelled for an out of stock item, or paying 15% restocking on a return.

This isn't Shuttle's microATX, though... it's their full-sized ATX board. I agree, it may not be the ultimate OC'er but I was pointing out that they have a very good price on it. 🙂
 
hope no one was looking for the Epox 8rda+, I believe i ordered the last one yesterday 🙂. Anyways, newegg had the cheapest price on the 8rda+, which recieved Anandtech's gold award over the A7n8X deluxe, well value wise at least. Either way, I ordered from newegg when they were pretty new and their fabulous customer service and fast shipping + prices made me a huge supporter. It helped that their price on the 8rda+ was also the best out of most of the reliable vendors out there. Anyways, the A7N8X deluxe is a great mb as well, I don't have a need for SATA or a second nic though

I was heavily considering getting the 7N400 Pro due to decent pricing for an extremely feature packed board...until I did some research. This board is crap for the most part. Read through the forums, search with google, look just about everywhere and you'll find tons of complaints that gigabyte released a beta board. Nothing but problems and we're not just talking about everyone having the same problem but there are multiple problems being reported. The bad thing along with this is gigabyte seems to be ignoring people. A guy I work with also actually tried one himself and sent it back. Got another...sent it back. Got another...sent it back. Three boards were all bad with different problems. He ended up going with an epox and loves it. I thought he was crazy or doing something wrong until I read the complaints online.

So I guess make your own decision. I made mine and I'm not wasting my money on one.
 
Gigabyte has been on a steady decline in there manufacture of quality boards over the past few years.

And this Asus deal is not hot at all.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Gigabyte has raised the bar for everyone. AMD has distributed their boards as reference boards for several recent chip releases.

I would gladly pay newegg an extra 5 bucks because of their excellent service and reputation. And they do have the lowest price on some items. Plus... half of the stuff u buy has free shipping.
 
I bought a refurb epox motherboard from newegg, it went dead after 40 days. Since they only offer 30 days warrenty, they wont let me RMA or return/exchange for the motherboard. So I had to swallow the $102 which I had paid for the board.
 
Did you try to get an RMA for it? I had a refurb board that was well beyond my 30 days yet they exchanged it anyway. Newegg is the best.
 
Just be aware that the A78NX Deluxe comes in a plain white box with no manual, drivers, cables, and the I/O shield.
