Asus A7N8X Delux, what happens if you DON'T install the sata drivers ?

I'm having a computer built in the shop for me now and it has the Delux nforce 2 and an 80 gig maxtor sata drive. I've read that you have to install sata drives during the installation of windows with the Asus delux model which is stupid since it comes on cd and not on a disk which you need to use to install it. Anyway I want to make sure the guys do this so I can take full advantage of my sata drive speed, what would happen if they didn't install the drivers ? Would it operate more slowly or not at all ? (the harddrive)

Well you would know if the hard drive wouldn't work because the OS wouldn't boot up, right?

You should be fine. Install the drivers after everything is up and running.

If the drivers are NOT installed and the drive still works, how do I know to go and install them ?

Would it affect the speed of the drive not having them installed ?
