Asus A7A266 ram

i know that the A7A266 runs ddr ram. i was looking up different prices for ddr and they were labeled pc2400, pc2100, and pc1600. what is the difference? which one is compatible with the A7A266. anyway help is much appreciated.

All of them would be compatible with the A7A266, the PC1600,PC2100,PC2400 are just the ratings for the maximum speed it is speced to run at. You need PC2100 or faster DDR SDRAM to run your Athlon at 266MHz FSB, you can use PC1600 or faster for an Athlon at 200MHz FSB.
PC2400 is for those that are looking to overclock.

PC1600 DDR is usually capable of overclocking to PC2100 speeds.

i really have no intention of doing any kind of overclocking. so are u recommending that i get pc2100?

FSB=Front Side Bus. It just means how fast the transmission runs between your board, memory, CPU. Faster the better of course. It's set at 200, or 266MHz dependent on your Tbird. Unless you have a slower 200Mhz FSB CPU, get the PC2100 DDR RAM for sure.
