Asus 990FX MB on newegg

Now the question is - Should I wait for BD before buying?

I know I can drop in my current Phenom II 965 BE, so is the performance benefit great enough over a Crosshair III to buy now with the rest of the hardware I currently have?

I would buy it right now if it supported core unlock. I need to enable the fourth core on my X3 to make it until September.

I've read the reviews for this board, and it is seriously awesome, easily worth the extra over the asrock, but I need my ucc.

I don't see why it wouldn't support that. Anything past a certain chipset (I believe the 770 series?) was able to do it even if the motherboard said it didn't feature it.

Has the Desert Storm look to it 🙂

For what it's worth a review is up at toms_hardware along with a MSI board

Looks like a decent board for those die hard AMD fans....Without BD reviews it's a gamble but I guess it does offer SLI support to somewhat offset the BD gamble.

Damn, and I just decided I wanted to go for it...

I went through the Hardware Canucks review again and the BIOS options are just amazing. All the little missing features are kind of irrelevant when you have so much power in the BIOS and in windows.

Consider that it is the first AMD chipset mobo out now to officially support SLI. So even if the Dozer isn't out, it might be worth it for some of you.

ooo, I like it. If Bulldozer delivers some nice performance, I'll snag that board and probably do a Tri-Fire setup in my main machine.
