Holy crap that's ridiculous. I'd love to sell my GT and get a pair of those. Unfortunately I'd need a new board if I did that. Nice post..this thing definitely deserves a look.

This is slower than 9800gtx. I don't know how it's going to rival 4870. More like it will rival 4850 when overclocked to the limits.

To add on more confusion between the 8800gt and the 9800gt, it looks like the 8800gts 512mb that can be sometimes confused with the original 8800gts g80.

ummm it beat the GTX is almost every benchmark and splits the wins with the 4850.

So overclocking this 9800 will bring it up to par with a GTX 260?

I think there are lot of confused people in this thread.

This card is a full g92 not GT200. Clocked little higher than most G92 GTS. It's still slower than 9800gtx because of bandwidth. I guess depending on the situation this might be little faster at raw speeds since it's overclocked.

No way. It will beat the 4850 but it's still far from 4870.

Yes. Is that hard to believe with the card clocked as it is? The benchies speak for themselves.

Overclocked card vs non overclocked card. 9800gtx will also clock higher you know. This card is G92 GTS. GTX overclock much higher than these. At stock I see the review and it's about 1 faster than stock 9800gtx.

This card is definitely good but the price also reflects it.

review sample had room to OC as well:

Core: 852Mhz
Shaders: 2056Mhz
Memory (DDR): 2220Mhz

I would love to see this compared to an OCed 9800 gtx. I think this will be slightly faster. In any case, this card out of the box is faster than a stock 9800 gtx based on what I read in the review.

Did they use a 9800GTX or 9800GTX+ for these tests? From the "Test Setup" page, it looks like a stock clocked 9800GTX (65nm).

GPU.............................................9800GTX+.....9800GTX
Stream Processors........................128...............128
Texture Address / Filtering............ 64 / 64..........64 / 64
ROPs...........................................16.................16
Core Clock..................................738MHz..........675MHz
Shader Clock...............................1836MHz........1690MHz
Memory Clock..............................1100MHz........1100MHz
Manufacturing Process...................TSMC 55nm...TSMC 65nm

Lol I know it's not a GT200. I just didn't think it could be at the same level as a GTX260 or 4870 even if overclocked. I just wanted to know why/how angry hampster thought it could rival a 4870 which rivals a GTX260 and sometimes even a GTX280.
