FWIW, I once received used hardware when ordering new parts from newegg. I've also received brand new, unopened parts when buying refurbs. Karma I guess...

The used part in question was an HDTV OTA antena. It was clearly not factory sealed -- the cables were twist tied poorly, there were fingerprints on it, the pin on one end of the cable was bent in a way that only a gorilla failing to install an antenna would manage, etc. Definitely couldn't blame that one on UPS. But since it worked great once I unbent the cable pin I didn't make a huge fuss over it.

A video card is a whole different bag of cards. Glad to hear they're taking care of you, but that kind of BS shouldn't happen in the first place.

Anti-static bags aren't taped shut, it would have the original sticker sealing the bag too if new, or just folded, but not taped.

Wrong.

They do this, newegg is known for sending used item when you order a new one. Take it up with them and have them send you a new card in original box and send your bunk one back.. gl newegg is eggcelent with RMA , but ya their flaw is shipping out used stuff sold as new... anyhow gl,

Glad you have resolution OP. It's happened to me once from the Egg, once from Fry's and once from BB. The Egg instance taught me to inspect everything, seals, cord wrappings, manuals, missing items, everything. I'd totally have rejected keeping a flashed card as well. Nice job.

Certainly it's not policy to distrubute returned items, but I bet they make judgement calls as wheter or not to reshelve an item. Returns are a line on their balance sheet, a line retailers are watching carefully right now. When all is weighed, the Egg is the very best place to get your goods. I love them. Man the money I've spent there...

When I got something I didn't pay for from Newegg I kept it. I bought a regular recertified 9800GTX that was stock clocked at the + speeds. I didn't say anything.
