Explanation: Meteor experts don't think it's a meteor. Atmospheric scientists don't think it's lightning. The photographer insists that the streak and flash on the above image has not been created digitally. So what is it? Nobody is sure.

I've seen that photo (actually a video) before. It is supposed to be a meteorite crashing to earth and hitting a light atop a pole which is either on a pier or in a parking area. 🙂

Yes, I've heard that they live inside street lamps where they replenish their energy reserves by absorbing the mercury vapor. Explains why that lamp doesn't work anymore. They land inside the lamps because the landing flash will be easily mistaken for the last gasp of a dying arc lamp. But that black streak is a dead give-away. It's what's left of their ship's ion trail. It shows up black in the picture because the cloaking engine cut off just a hair early before the trail had dispersed completely.

See, there's a logical explanation afterall.
