Assuming that once the 2407FPW comes out in NA and still has problems, what's my best bet?

I heard that the 2407FPW has problems where it has been released, but I don't know any specifics.

Are there any other 1920x1200 LCD's that have at least the amount of inputs as the 2407FPW under $1000CDN? The 2405FPW would seem perfect, but I don't know how big a problem HDCP is going to be.

I was in the same boat and ended up going with the 2405 (it can still be had for $639). With the problems of this first batch of 2407s plus the time it'll take before they drop to under $800 outweighed the benefit of HDCP--get the 2405!

Cheapest I've ever seen is $799CDN though. WIth the Canadian dollat at 0.90 cents US, it's getting annoying.

But I do see your point, and if the 2405FPW ever drops to a good price, I'll be sure to snatch it up.

I really wish there was.
I've been using a 27inch 720P hdtv as a gaming monitor for over a year. For about the last 6 months or so, I've been waiting for the 3007 to come out. Now I just need to wait for it to drop to $1000.

I might just buy a 2407FPW and sell my 27inch LCD. 3 inches of screen size is a worthy sacrifice for the amount of resolution that would be gained.

30" is waaaay too big for a desktop monitor. The 2405 that I just got is already very ****** big... and any bigger would be too much, I think.
