Assignment ideas, need Help

Yo,

I have to write a position paper for a class soon, and I'm trying to come up with ideas. A position paper is where you state your position on a subject and argue for it. It's a military class so obviously most people are choosing to write about Iraq and US foreign policy associated to that. I think its an interesting subject but with 20 other people writing about it, it sort of loses its appeal.
So far the only other idea I've had is why we should carpet bomb France. Anyone else have some ideas? Should be govt/foreign policy/military related.

Let's hear your reasons for carpet-bombing France? Seems to me that would unfortunately eliminate a constant source of amusement. I mean, the world would be a dull place without such gems as: "We don't like the term 'Greenwich Mean Time.' We're going to call it 'Paris Mean Time' instead" ?

Ha ha, Paris mean time.. Anyways, the technology idea is good, but this is a position paper, so I have to argue my opinion of a certain situation, ie. am I for or against war on Iraq.. I'm still trying to think of ideas so everyone let er rip with the ideas..
