Assembly on my resume....

If I put assmebly on my resume, should I go a step further and specify which type I used? I have read CISC and used it for aid in debugging C code, but I never coded in it, so i guess you would say i primarily know RISC only?

doesnt matter, just saying you know assembly programming should be good enuf, most employers dont want you to know very specific skills, having a good idea in general about assembly programming is good enough i think

Target your resume for the job you are seeking. If you seek to be a RISC Assembly programmer then you should absolutely be specific. If you seek to be a Java developer then it's likely not at all important to be so specific. If you're going to an embedded systems position then they would likely find you suspect if you just listed "assembly" as a skill.

There are very few employers that will care that you know assembly, unless if you're applying for a very specific position that requires it I would omit it altogether. As Descartes said, if you're applying for a job that requires it, you should be more specific.
