Any further details? Specs on the computer, video card driver version? Is AC4 completely updated through Uplay? Without knowing that, it could be basically anything.

Huge thread about issue. There doesn't seem to be a solution unfortunately, and a lot of people just bashing Ubisoft. Might be worth keeping an eye on though in case somebody does come across a solution
Thanks. I had also found that thread and couldn't find a solution, just complaining.
I'm just going to buy it for him on steam. I don't have time to dink with it and the Lil guy really wants to play it.
Why would you buy it again if there's issues. From what I'm reading it doesn't seem to be a u-play issue, and even if it is... even the steam version uses u-play.
Mods please move if wrong forum.
After downloading the free ACIV game that came with like rudeguys new video card, he gets ACBFSP.exe has stopped working. Anyone else run into this? Anyone know of a cause/fix?
Thanks
I had to install on the primary drive to get it to work, had the same issue with other Ubi games in the past too. And for the last Ghost Recon I had to create a a guest account in windows to get it to run and that actually worked.

This fixed it.
Thank you so much!
Well farcry 3 runs fine on my machine (it is installed on the 'steam' drive and not the ssd boot disk. But I have to say just starting the game was a pia with uplay - to upgrade to the delux you don't upgrade in uplay you upgrade in the game (ok that sort of make sense) but the uplay interface suggests that you can upgrade it there. Worse (though minor i guess since I can type fine and dandy) there is no way to paste the keys into uplay (or farcry 3). Anyways I don't think I will buy anymore uplay games for a while - kind of a pity had hope that might and magic legacy would be good but uplay is just a pia that adds no value.
I remember trying pretty much everything I could think of until I moved it to the primary and then it ran without issues. This was FC3 and every subsequent Ubi game failed til I moved them. I use a external drive via USB but people with internal storage have the same issue. Curious why it works for you. I have a huge library of games on the external drive but only Ubi games insist on the primary drive, for me atleast.
It is rather shockingly short-sighted in 2013 that a game company would release a game for a PC and not be aware that multiple hard drives might be a thing.
Yea.. that would have been #167 on my list of things to try to fix it. Well below giving up and buying a game that works.
Thanks again guys. You made Lil rudeguy a happy camper.
Well IB, while you're waiting for your C2 you could loan me the PC133SDRAM to experiment with. Ah the joys of bachelorhood
.
Thanks for digging up the BIOS flash procedure. Anand should just keep it in permanent storage somewhere on the site. At least one person a week asks for it.
