Assassin's Creed 2: The First Video

What a lame teaser.

Well, they can't show you any game play footage, or you'd already know what you'll be doing (over and over again) in the final game.

So they just slap a cartoonish movie that has nothing to do with anything? Really, this teaser is worthless. If you want to announce that Assasins Creed 2 will be produced, they should have made a press conference with that extremely sexy Jade Raymond.😱 That would really catch the eyes of every male gamer out there.

My point was that the first one sucked, and well... so will the second one. Sorry if I ruined the suspense for anyone. 🙂

Here's what we get:

1) Some sort of rocket the guy can now shoot out of his wrist.

2) Some sort of set of wings/glider a la Far Cry 2.

3) Renaissance time, most likely big cities, maybe bigger than last time

4) Da Vinci is a time traveler.

If they keep the same style of gameplay I hope they at least give you more things to do. The first game still looks tremendous (especially on pc) and the 3 big cities are beautiful but there's nothing to do in them! More varied assassinations, some indoor missions (can I go inside a house please?), quests from various city dwellers, costumes to use for stealth purposes (ala Hitman)..etc.

No more stupid flag crap too.

As long as I can still kill civilians, I'm ok

It was repetitive, but really, all games that have more then 4 hours of gameplay, are repetitive. I, really liked the first one though, it brought something new in the games arena.

It's vague to spark discourse and in turn create hype. It leaves a lot to interpretation. I interpreted this teaser as crap. Purposely vague game teasers need to die.

my sentiments exactamundo. maybe if they integrate just a tad more skill requirements/challenge in free running through cities ala PoP, maybe throw in wall running or something. Obviously they can't go full PoP since that's heavily scripted/linear and AC is openworldish, but maybe a few short scenarios where you have to get from A to B by some acrobatic route.

I always loved to kill the crazy people. They were so annoying when they pushed me around for nothing, all the time. Nobody pushes a hitman and gets away with it. 🙂

Agreed! That teaser showed nothing and lead nowhere! 😛

It was a lot of potential that went nowhere IMO. It's a shame too because the game looked/played great and had some cool ideas, it was just boring. This seems to be somewhat of a UbiSoft trait, as Far Cry 2 pretty much did the exact same thing.

Then again, I'm sure some people felt that way about Fallout 3, which I really enjoyed. It was also repetitive, but it didn't really wear me out the way Assassin's Creed did. To each his own I guess.

Anyone else excited for this? The first one was a bit repetitive but I never really got bored. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses after that cliff hanger of an ending..

I don't know how much you know about what they had planned for the series. But as far as I remember the second one takes place in present day, with you (the dude on the table in the first game) inheriting all of Altiars(spelling?) abilities. And the 3rd game takes place in the future. or so I've been told.

"the second Assassin's Creed will cost around 20 percent more than the first one, and be a much bigger game"

Please. A lot of games cost a lot more to make than other games, but they all sell at $50 anyway because that's what you sell games at. They're charging more for AC2 because the first sold like hotcakes and that's the only reason.

You're confused. They never said they would charge more.

I just love how they blanked out the genitals on DaVinci's portrait of man. What a ridiculous world we live in when game censorship applies to an anatomical drawing that WE SENT INTO FUCKING SPACE.
