There are also numerous interface design decisions that are utterly idiotic, like the fixed 16:9 aspect ratio, lack of anytime save games, disabled AA at 1600x1200 or above and the infamous 11 commands needed to exit the game.

You can just alt-f4 after saving, and you can pretty much save whenever you want if you just find a flag (pretty easy to find, there are hundreds).

I really liked this game. It was the first one I played on my new system.
Graphics and game play are very smooth and original. Terrific voice acting and characters. Great premis.
I could have written a much better plot. It would have been good. Focus on the religious fundamentalist aspect and conflicts/simularities between Islam and Chritianity. The story went "Lost", rambling, repetitive, and silly. The "conspiracy theory" ending with aliens etc. sucked.
But that's where porn and games are the same; people don't buy them for the story.

ahhh man! are you f'n kidding me, there is an alien plot to this game...
well I think I just got a long floppy one for this game and I havenet even played it for more than an hour.
that totally sux, this alien thing in games is getting really old!

It seems like there are a lot of flags, but I think only a few are easy to find and I am not coming across them nearly as often as I would like. The other save checkpoints are quite infrequent as well (and given the nonlinear layouts of the maps, they couldn't have put in a lot of checkpoints anyway).

I generally don't like games that lack a proper save function, since it forces you to keep replaying parts of the game and just makes it tedious. In an especially repetitive game like this, it's all the more annoying.
