I like how you have to make the "suicide" distinction in order to take the wrong side since Israel has no problems bombing women and children from the sky.
Those women just happen to be blowing, fucking, cooking for, housing, and otherwise supporting the rocket-launching-suicide-vest-wearing terrorists among them, while their children watch and cheer cartoons and puppet-shows about suicide bombings on Saturday mornings, inter-mixed with sermons from their favorite Wahhabi broadcasts calling for the celebrated murder of every Westerner on the planet... so they're fair game -- just as the Taliban-sucking whores and their offspring are fairgame in Pakistan.

yep.

Israel should have marched them all into Syria a long fuckin time ago.

Disagree with this, Skins. If you're not a suicide bomber, you're not a target, in my book. We cannot afford to generalize to this extent.

Regard ZeGermans: Yes, I make the suicide distinction. Israel does not order it's soldiers to deliberately execute suprise attacks against unsuspecting civilians. Hamas does. That seems to me an important distinction.

Not really, forewarning that an area will be bombarded for several days is not really useful when you have nowhere else to go.

In any event, I applaud you for disagreeing [deleted]

We have already been over this:

http://forums.anandtech.com/me...ght_key=y&keyword1=ass

We have people describing Palestinian civilians as "fair game" in this thread and yet you feel that it is more important to draw attention to my use of the word "ass", you are a sick individual.

Thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2324854&enterthread=y

You posted your question, it was answered. You still disagree. Fine. You say you will not back down. That's OK too, but you have been warned as to the possible repercussions.

That is a personal attack and the target had no interaction with your previously.

You had been warned about this and still want to continue to insist that it is not a personal attack or that it is justified.

If one starts a personal attack, there is a chance that they will get called on it.

You started it - you were called on it.

It is a description: when someone states that Palestinian mothers/wives deserve to die, that person is an ass, there is no room for debate.

Read the thread, there is previous interaction between me and the poster in question, do you feel the need to lie?

The point is, if any post required intervention by a moderator, it is surely the post by TheSkinsFan cited above. If I felt that I was "busted and rightly so" I would not have posted here. It is appauling that no Moderator intervention took place in relation to the "fair game" comment by said poster. If the forum feels otherwise, I will gladly ban myself.

I maintain the use of the term ass and will continue to do so.

I see, so when someone advocates killing Palestinian civilians, that should be ignored and we should feel pity, but under no circumstances should we refer to that person as an ass.

The individual in question is an ass. Given what he said, I feel that "ass" is a relatively mild term and I am unwilling to retract it, whereby the moderator should carry through the threat to ban/suspend me, if that is indeed in keeping with the policy of this forum.

Let me tell you some things I had to learn the hard way:

- Always take the higher road. It doesnt matter what he said, its up to you to be more mature. The Mods are the only people here you have to worry about, and if you dont say anything nasty you wont even have to worry about them.
- Many folks know exactly what it takes to get someone banned and they will goad you into a pissing contest so as you report you when you step over the line. Many flame like posts are worded to get you to over play your hand and then get in trouble. Dont fall for it. True, they sometimes risk getting themselves in trouble, but most of the experienced trolls know how to avoid it. Dont play their game, that falls in line with the first tip.
- In P&N, it is perfectly acceptable to say nasty, evil things about damn near anyone EXCEPT other forum members. You can suggest that all Christians go screw themselves. You can suggest all Pro-choice people burn in hell for eternity. You can NOT say that member XYZ is a dick. That will get you in trouble. Its weird, but its how this place works. Learn it now and try to remember in the future.

Trust me, it doesnt take many vacations before they consider banning you completely.

Shorty, I appreciate your advice; however, I refuse to back down on this one, as a matter of principle. If I am to be banned for referring to someone as an idiot, I could not have picked a better candidate.

To be honest, if the moderators on this site feel that TheSkinsFans' post does not deserve some form of censure, and I again affirm that "ass" is a relatively mild term, under the circumstances, I would prefer to have my membership officially revoked.

In any event, thanks Shorty.

I've used words a lot worse than ass in P&N (and so has everyone else, including the mods). Why all the sudden the prima donna attitude?

Things seem a little weird lately. Someone just got banned for accusing another member of plagiarizing, which seems a little silly. I wonder if Steeplerot/TheRedUnderYourBed will get banned for claiming that I'm the kind of person that would be part of the "far-rights newest SS taking care of business as usual." Seems a little worse to me. Link

Guys, this may be a related issue (JD50 provides the link), given that you are calling moderator intervention into question, but you are derailing this thread, here's the link to the thread in question in my case:

as i recall he was warned but then people pointed out that "ass" means something besides a slang name here in teh US.

to continue to ban him after you were called on it makes you look bad. It seems you are nitpicking to find a way to ban him for retalation. i really hope that is not the case.

Irish was calling whoever it was a ignorant or stupid person. not every country uses ass as we do.
