Hello all,

I am planning on buying the parts for a new gaming PC, I kind off decided to go for the Asus Maximus VI Hero but I just noticed the ASRock Z87 Fatal1ty Killer is on sale for 124 euro and reading reviews it sounds like a good board.

I will be running a 2770K CPU, Noctua NH-D14, SSD's, Seasonic G-650, 16GB G Skill Ripjawz and a GTX 680.
As mentioned primary used for gaming and I plan on little overclocking but nothing extreme.

What do you guys think. Is the AsRock an option? is it quality wise the same as Asus? is the Hero a better buy?... help please :)

2700k is not compatible with 1150 socket motherboards. You will need to get a Haswell CPU.

EDIT: Looks like you might have meant to say 4770k. So yes, go with the Asrock. Can't beat the value for the price.

I have the Asrock Z87 Fataility Killer. Been running it for about a month now. So far I really like it and have had no issues. System is 100% stable since the first time I powered it on.

Aside from additional ports and such, I think the main difference is the killer has a KillerNic and the Hero has far better sound quality, that of a soundcard instead of the usual onboard.
