ASRock Z87 Extreme4 2.40 BIOS?

Two weeks ago I got ASRock Z87 Extreme4 motherboard and 4770K to upgrade my aging Core2Quad computers. I wanted to update the BIOS before installing anything, but I'm confused whether the 2.3 or 2.4 is the BIOS I should use. If I go directly to support page, the 2.3 is the latest version that is available. However, if I open cached version from google, it shows, and lets me download 2.4. What gives? Did 2.4 get pulled for some reason? Does anyone know?

Hi,

last time I checked the AsRock BIOS webpage I found version 2.40 and updated version 2.30 with it without seeing any problems since then. Several days later I saw that this version was revoked without any reason given.

I did not bother to downgrade but AsRock must have had reasons for revoking it, so I would stay away from it in your position.

It's a dual bios board so you risk level is quite low.

BIOS 2.60 was released 2013/12/17

1. Add "USB Compatibility Patch" setup option in BIOS.
2. Modify HDMI hotplug code for HDMI audio.
