SIGH!!!

What a bummer, the Thermalright AXP 140 will not play nice with Asrock mini itx mobo.

Can someone or anyone knows what decent cpu cooler that will work with this mobo?

The case is Silverstone SG-07

No orientation is workable? Heatpipes block gpu slot? Power placement? Just wondering as looking at photos it looks like it would work.

i think theres about 1mm spacing between heatpipes and GPU card with no backplate.

2nd main issue is the mounting bracket and memory. If i mount the cooler first, i can't install the memory or if i install memory first; i cannot screw in the mounting bracket. Be nice if there's a hole on top of the heat fins to allow screw in the bracket.

Maybe i can find the skinnest screw driver and run it threw the fins.....nah! I i don't know, maybe I will do it.

3rd issue is the mounting bracket was force fit into the heatsink.

that's the old design i believe.

I'm not sure but it was Thermalrights current page.

This hardware is what it shows for S1156 which would be the same for S1155

The long wire pins lock the screws in place. You tighten up the cooler from the underside of the motherboard.

If you want to use the cooler it looks like it would solve your issues....As long there are no issues with case interferance, etc.

hmmm, i'm gona have look into that. That might just resolve my issue.
Thx

I guess heat pipes touching the back side of the video is ok?

I don't think so. It is metal, conducts electricity, and the last thing you want to have is to bridge solder points and short it out unless you have a GPU back plate. Noctua even recommends insulation for their fan clips to prevent this from happening.

I thought you had about 1mm of clearance between pipes and card. You would want to make sure it doesn't touch the pcb. You could possibly put a strip or two of electircal tape on back of the card. Another option would be something like the anit-skip rubber/felt things you put on bottom of furniture, etc. to protect tables and flooring. They do come in some pretty small sizes. If you've built rigs before you might have one of those plastic stick on motherboard risers you could mod as the base is pretty thin.

If there is actually 1mm of clearance (and assuming you can get the cooler to mount properly with your RAM) then I'd say go for the insulation route.
