ASRock Dual SerialATA2

If I install the AGP drivers first I am unable to install my nvidia drivers, my PC just locks up then crashes. If I install my nvidia drivers I am unable to install the AGP driver, it says I am running a 64bit of windows while I am runnign XP Pro SP2. The problem is that in my nvidia system pannel it says that the bus of my 6800GS is PCI, and I get far from expected performance in games (20FPS average in BF2 with medium settings). What can I do to remedy this?

I know that this is a really stupid question, but is your 6800GS an AGP card or PCI-E card? Sorry if it is an AGP, just a check.

It is an AGP card. I just called ASRock and they have no idea what's going on. If you were to look under the newegg reviews with 1 star they all state the AGP problem. It seems that this mobo only supports about 5 AGP cards, apparently mine not being one of them.

The problem is after installing the AGP driver, when I attempt to install my nvidia driver my computer crashes.

And I can't even install the driver, it says "64Bit windows already include AGP Driver, install special patch!!"

I'm unclear at what point you're getting this error - are you getting it immediately upon install of the ULi AGP drivers, or later when you're trying to install your Nvidia video drivers? Which version of the AGP drivers and the Nvidia drivers are you trying to install?

I have just reformated and am installing updates now, but this is the process:

I would attempt to install the AGP drivers and it would give me that error. Before this started happening, I could install the AGP drivers succesfully but when I would attempt to install the Nvidia drivers my computer would crash.

If I were to install the Nvidia drivers first, I was unable to install the AGP drivers giving me that particular error.

Which model board is it? I just put together a machine for my father, ordering the
ASRock 939NF4G-SATA2 board from newegg and had no problems with it. It was
fine testing it with the onboard video and with the 6600gt that I added afterwards.
Is that the same board you have?

If you are using PCIe vid card then I dont think you need the AGP driver.
But you need a fresh winxp install. I you install win in SATA II HDD and want to run it in sata mode, you have to install sataII drivers thru. floppy disk method, using "F6" key, right at the beginning of win installation.
The instruction is in the downloadable manual (not the booklet that came w/ the board).
