Asrock AM 2 Riser card

Message says it all. Trying to extend the life of my SATA II motherboard. Some good looking prices on AMD CPU's.

Since the AM2 CPU has a DDR2 controller and 939 motherboards were DDR, how would that work? Have you seen one of these existing before?

The riser card is a daughter board that carried an AM2 socket and DIMM slots for DDR2.

Yes, they do exist and I've seen one in action, although I don't have one for my own Asrock 939 mobo. I doubt Asrock made many, as there was little immediate demand for them (AMD took their time about bringing out 939-beating CPUs for AM2, and there was a wide choice of regular AM2 boards for upgraders).
