I have an antec sonata case and managed to connect the Power Switch and the HDD LED, however i am not sure where to connect the PLED connector

It has two rows of pins 4 on one and 5 on the other.. the manual says i need to connect the Power switch and the powerLED on the row with 4 pins, two are taken by the Power Switch and on the remaining 2 i need to connect the power LED connector which has 3 slots +, Grnd and -

Don't know if it makes sense but if you managed to figure out what i am trying to say, can u please tell me what i am doing wrong?

[] [] [] []
[] [] [] [] [X]

PLED +, PLED -, PWRbTN#, GND
HDLED+, HDLED -, GND, RESET #, Dummy, the [X}

with floppy connection to the left of above diagram. GND and negative should be the most common color on your connectors. 1) Are you having any problems with the Reset switch?

What you have to do in this case (no pun intended) is modify the PLED connector. On the back side of the connector ( the non writing side), there should be some metal and some clips:

|----| <----Solid plastic
|||||| <---plastic clips
[]--[] <---Metal

Using a knife, carefully lift up the clip for + wire (the not - one....remember ground and - are usually the same (and most common) color). While you have the clip lifted, pull out the + wire, then reinsert it into the middle. Done.

|----| <----Solid plastic
|||||| <---plastic clips
--[][] <---Blank, PLED +, PLED -

The power LED pins are 2 pins side by side on the Asrock motherboard. But, the power LED of my case has a 3-pin connector. So, I was not able to connect it. But, my case has an extra 2-pin LED. So, my power LED is now orange instead of green!

A 2-pin to 3-pin converter is what we need. I would be very interested to find one too.

Yeah it's pretty easy to fix it so you just have a bit of extra plastic sticking out on the the left side. Takes approximately 12 seconds.

I about crapped myself when I was trying to plug my Antec ALK1650B PLed into the ASRock, but I e-mailed technical support (Antec) and they sent me a "guide" to move the pins over. Whether it's destructive or not depends on you:).

http://www.antec-inc.com/specs/ezusb.html
It's for USB, but same cable type. ~Shows you how to take pins out.

Also, if for some reason those the extra plastic gets in the way, e-mail Antec, they should be able to send you a 3 to 2 converter.

I had the same problem on mine. I just don't use the power led now. Maybe one day I will get around to wiring it up.

i just moved one wire over as described above...works like a charm, and takes about 12 seconds to complete.

How good are you w/ soldering?
if good, then look below the speaker pins (edge of mobo). You will see 3 soldering pads, and a writing "PWR-LED 1". solder 3 pins to these 3 pads, wolla, you have 3 pins pwr led connection.
This MOBO is the modder's dream. You can mod so many things on this board.
Incase you want a 3rd fan header, look closely between NB and SB, you will see the 3rd fan header pads "NB_FAN1". solder 3 pins here, you have your 3rd fan header.
Incase interested in any other mods check this Link

I had noticed that the other day and was wondering if it worked. Thanks for confirming this. (the extra 3 pin, that is). Kind of useless, however; it's not like you can control the fan speeds ><
