Asrock 775Dual-VSTA ? e6300 poor CPU benchmarks!

I have run Sisoft Sandra 2007 CPU benchmark, as well as other CPU benchmarks to confirm, and I get less than a third of the expected performance (about the same thing of an Athlon 2800).

Using Windows XP SP2 with all updates (including optionals!), latest VIA 4in1 drivers and latest BIOS (i.e. version 1.90).

Has anyone experienced the same thing? Do you have any suggestions on what I could do? I have tried every possible BIOS setting without any success.

I have read the entire thread before I bought this mobo. I am not sure the problem is related with it.

I am thinking that it has more to do with XP configuration. I had an Athlon 3000 installed on that machine previously. So I am thinking that I dont have the corrected XP driver setup to run Core2 duos. But ... I have removed all 'ghost' drivers and checked my hardware device manager, and I do see 2 CPUs at 1.86 GHz.

This is really weird. Would it be possible that I am running on a single core?
